The light in July and August is exceptional clear and golden and consistent in a way that the more humid summer months cannot quite match.

October and November are also very good, with the landscape emerging fresh from the cooler season and the ocean temperature rising toward its most inviting. These months have slightly more unpredictable weather, but rain in Mauritius is usually short and sharp and followed immediately by brilliant light that makes everything look rinsed and vivid.

December through March is the Mauritian summer hotter, more humid, with the theoretical risk of cyclones (actual disruption is rare but real). If this period is the only one that works for you logistically, a summer Mauritius wedding can be extraordinary lush, warm, dramatic but go in with eyes open.

Where UK Couples Tend to Stay
